A note from President Al —

Happy Spring – Well, maybe it is a little early, but good thought anyway.

And speaking of spring, I have done some brainstorming and figured out there is a lot of “spring work” to be done at the arena — painting, announcer’s stand to be completed, water put in the cook shack, lights and gravel around the cook shack, clean and paint/stain picnic tables, gates to be rehung, cattle pen enlarged, more lights around the arena – just to name a few projects.  So, if any of you have some time to give, let me know.  We will be scheduling some work days and would really appreciate the help.

I would like to see White Squirrel Saddle Club members at the VFW on Saturday night enjoying a good steak dinner and an excellent band.  In addition to just eating and listening, several items will be auctioned – horse feed, tickets for two to Nashville, and maybe some surprise items.  Too, there will be a 50/50 drawing, and hopefully, some lucky individual will go home with some extra money in their pocket.  All in all, it will be a fun, fun evening.  Hope to see many of you there.  Please call Cathy Zellmer for tickets!!!

            Crazyhorse 4-H met February 12 at 2:00 p.m.

Seven members were present and welcomed a new member, Tristyn Troyer.  Danielle Jinkins received her Project Achievement Award for outstanding progress in her projects.  The IGA cookout and bake sale date was confirmed to be Saturday, April 22, 10 – 2

Possible dates for the field trip to Sky Zone in Evansville were discussed.  An order form was completed for new Richland County T-shirts designed to help celebrate 4-H week coming up the first week in March.  Lots of activities are planned by the 4-H office to help advertise what 4-H is all about.  Danielle Jinkins and Isabelle Conn gave excellent talks on photographing wildlife and visual arts.  4-H members all worked together to make and deliver Valentines for the patients on 3rd floor of Richland Memorial Hospital.  Refreshments were brought by the Conn family and enjoyed by all.  March talk and demos will be done by Darby and Karlee Bissey.

Next meeting is March 12.
